Mobile and Flexible Production Line for Industry 4.0
Project overview
The teams at ERM Automatismes carried out the installation and training for an ErmaSmart line at the AFPA Vénissieux center in Lyon.
At the AFPA in Vénissieux, the line was set up in a straight configuration.
ErmaSmart line composition
The ErmaSmart line implemented in Vénissieux consists of three main stations :
- The “Dosaxe” station for real-time dosing of granules
- The collaborative robot for “Capping & Assembly” – used for capping jars/bottles or assembling planetary gear trains
- The Cartesian “Pick & Place XYZ” station – for placing jars/bottles into trays or positioning boxes and pallets
Additional modules can be added later to complete the line :
- A collaborative robot for 2D bin picking (jars/bottles) and screwing/assembly
- A dynamic vertical storage system for production stock and automatic order preparation
Several options have also been included :
- A silent air compressor
- An energy supply control box
- Fault simulation boxes on the machines
- Tulip MES system
The ErmaSmart line can be used for two main manufacturing processes :
- Packaging : Placing jars into trays
- Assembly : Building planetary gear reducers
Its ability to quickly switch between processes makes the ErmaSmart line both modular and scalable.
Additional Features
The ErmaSmart didactic system is built to last, with a welded frame structure and robust components, allowing for frequent setup changes, disassembly, and reconfiguration. Its scalable design means the line can be tailored to suit available resources. Activities are easy to prepare, with the line ready to run instantly.
