Flexible and mobile production line for Industry 4.0

The teams at ERM Automatismes have installed a new Ermasmart production line at the CFAI in Mans, UIMM Pays de la Loire. This educational production line consists of autonomous and modular systems that can operate separately in either packaging or assembly mode.
For the CFAI in Mans, they chose to install it in a straight-line configuration !
Composition of the ErmaSmart Line
ErmaSmart is a customized line offering a wide range of possibilities thanks to its five distinct workstations :
- Collaborative Robot for De-boxing 2D (Jars/Bottles) & Assembly-Screwing : This versatile workstation is designed to handle both de-boxing of jars and bottles in bulk and perform assembly and screwing operations. With its advanced technology, it ensures precise and efficient handling of parts.
- “Dosaxe” Workstation : This station is dedicated to the precise dosage of pellets on the fly. It accurately measures the required amount of pellets and distributes them in a controlled manner.
- Collaborative Robot for “Capping & Assembly” : This workstation is designed for capping jars/bottles or assembling planetary gear trains. It uses sophisticated mechanisms to ensure airtight and secure capping, as well as precise component assembly.
- “Pick & Place Cartesian XYZ” Workstation : This station plays a key role in packaging jars/bottles into trays or positioning boxes and pallets. With its Cartesian manipulation capabilities across three axes (X, Y, and Z), it ensures precise and rapid placement of products, thus facilitating the packaging process.
- Vertical Storage System : This workstation offers production storage space and allows for automatic order preparation. Thanks to its dynamic vertical system, it optimizes space utilization and ensures easy and quick access to products.
The ErmaSmart line can be configured for two main manufacturing processes :
- Packaging : For packaging jars into trays.
- Assembly : For assembling gear reducers with planetary gears.
The ability to easily switch between processes makes the ErmaSmart line modular and adaptable.
The Little Extras
The educational ErmaSmart system is robust (welded frame and adapted components) and allows for numerous assemblies, disassemblies, and campaign changes. The ErmaSmart line has an adaptable structure, enabling it to be customized according to your resources. The preparation of activities is made easier thanks to the instant startup of the line.
